Introducing Online Syslog Viewer

Online Syslog Viewer is here to make your life easier in checking the events logged in your System through the WinSyslog and EventReporter clients. You can view all these logged events (that are stored in your WinSyslog Database) and you are free to choose which events you wish to see (by entering the date of the events you're searching for). Furthermore, there is the option to order the requested events, by the date they are received, by their recorded Facility or their Priority.

Select date of Events

You have to specify the date of the events you wish to view. There are two possibilities:

  • Choose from Predefined Dates
You can select the date of the events you wish to view from some predefined options.
  • Define Events' Date Manually
You can give the exact dates between which the events that will appear should be. The first date selected must be before the last date, so that the selection makes sense.

  • Order of Events

This is an extra option which allows you to view the requested events in a specific order. There are five possibilities:

  • Order by date
If selected, the events will appear ordered by the date they were received, beginning from the most recent event.
  • Order by Facility
If selected, the events will appear ordered by their Facility.
  • Order by Priority
If selected, the events will appear ordered by their Priority.
  • Order by Facility and Date
If selected, the events will appear ordered by their Facility, and they will also have a date order.
  • Order by Facility and Date
If selected, the events will appear ordered by their Priority, and they will also have a date order.

  • Moving at another Page

In one Page there will appear 30 events maximum. If the events are more, you can view them all by moving through the different Pages. You can do this either with the direction buttons, or by directly choosing the Page at which you wish to go (from the option up on the left)

    Set your own Configurations!

You can set your own configurations by changing by wish the values of the variables in the page "ConfigSetings.asp". Most importantly you must set your database connection. Further more you can change your default display options for example. Extra instructions are there available. After changing, save the page with the same name ("ConfigSetings.asp").
